The Beginning of a Journey: Finding My Voice

This is it—the first step on a journey I’ve been meaning to take for a while now. Starting this blog feels like opening a door into the unknown. It’s equal parts thrilling and overwhelming. For someone who usually keeps their thoughts and comments tucked away, putting my ideas out into the world feels like standing in front of a crowd without a script. But I’ve decided it’s time to be BRAVE!

I’m embarking on a journey to find my voice—not just the voice I use in conversation, but the one that reflects my thoughts, dreams, and the unique way I see the world. For so long, I’ve observed from the sidelines, kept my ideas private, and let others take the stage. But I’ve realized that growth often comes from stepping out of the comfort zone and into a space of vulnerability.

This blog is my first step into that space. It’s a reflection of where I am and where I hope to go, both personally and professionally. From my experiences in Business Development in the Mining and Energy sectors, to my reflections on life and growth, this is where I’ll share the lessons, challenges, and insights that shape my path. My biggest aspiration for this journey is to tap into explorations of what it means to create meaningful impact and contribute to the greater good of the LOCAL and global communities in which I live.

As fitting as it feels to begin this journey, today carries an extra weight of significance—it’s the last day of 2024. This year has been a whirlwind of challenges, lessons, transformations, and really meaningful relationships. As I reflect on everything this year has taught me, I can’t help but feel hopeful about stepping into 2025. The new year represents a clean slate, an opportunity to set new intentions and embrace the unknown with courage and determination. There’s no better time to start something new than at the dawn of a new chapter.

It won’t always be perfect, and I’m okay with that. This isn’t about having all the answers; it’s about exploring the questions, building connections, and creating a space where ideas can flow freely. Most importantly, it’s about finding the courage to share who I am and what I care about.
